The EFLIT short course operates as a series of interactive seminars designed to advance legal and lingusitic skills. Seminars meet once per week over a period of 2-3 months.
Short courses always include:
-an opening seminar on "Foundations & Legal Correspondence". This seminar is designed to teach how to effectively report the state of the law and to describe sources of law and outcomes of cases to foreign clients & colleagues;
-a seminar on "Legal English & Applied Skills" which includes a grammar review, false friends in legal language, and tips on how to advise clients and express agreement and disagrement on matters of professional interest;
- a seminar on "Contracts" which focuses on contract formation, offer and acceptance, remedies for breach of contract and the key vocabulary on contracts and legal drafting.
Depending on each venue, the additional seminars cover areas such as Real Estate, Corporate Law, English for Business, Arbitration and Litigation.
